Richard G. Shugarman, MD

Dr. Shugarman has been in practice in Palm Beach County Florida since 1971. A long-time volunteer at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine, he was awarded the university’s highest rank, Voluntary Professor. He has also served as the chief of Ophthalmology at JFK Medical Center; president of the Palm Beach County Ophthalmologic Society; president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology; and member of the AAO Board of Councilors. His love of teaching has lead him to teach and run programs for Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, local hospitals, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology,  the Pan American Ophthalmologic Society, the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists and the International Contact Lens Society.
