An expert in the treatment of retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and pediatric retinal disorders, Dr. Recchia is the fellowship program director for vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Dr. Recchia is a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings and serves as a reviewer for major ophthalmology and retina journals. He has published extensively and is coauthor of a book on retinal diseases, eight book chapters and over twenty journal articles.
