MOC Exam Review Course: "The Academy's best kept secret"
Listen to Thomas Oetting, MD, senior course faculty and Michael Singer, MD, recent course attendee, discuss the challenges of preparing for MOC exams and the merits of attending the course in this new podcast.
"This course is the Academy's best kept secret...it was an excellent, surprisingly comprehensive review in one weekend." -Thomas Mattingly, MD
"Faculty and texts 'cut to the chase' - provided insight of what would be necessary knowledge to pass DOCK exam for recertification." -Robert Strome, MD
"I just passed the DOCK exam and the AAO review course was the basis of my studying. I am not sure how I could have passed without it, and it is one of the best services I have ever received as an AAO member." -Michael A. Singer, MD

Prepare with Confidence - Study with the Experts
Study for the Demonstration of Ophthalmic Cognitive Knowledge (DOCK) examination with the only review course based on the Practicing Ophthalmologists Curriculum (POC) - the same content that the American Board of Ophthalmology will use to develop the exam questions. Interactive sessions will be taught by instructors who created the POC.
Who will benefit?
- Practicing ophthalmologists (comprehensive ophthalmologists and all subspecialists) who wish to attend a course to identify gaps in care in order to update their clinical knowledge, improve their professional practices and enhance patient care outcomes
- Time-limited certificate holders who plan to take the ABO's DOCK examination in 2013.
What are the course objectives?
- To provide an update of clinically relevant ophthalmic knowledge and information for all ophthalmologists interested in improving quality of patient care in their professional practices by identifying and addressing gaps in care through appropriate educational strategies
- To prepare time-limited certificate holders for successful completion of the Demonstration of Ophthalmic Cognitive Knowledge (DOCK) examination in Core Ophthalmic Knowledge and one or two Practice Emphasis Areas of their choice
What are the desired results?
- Enhance competence: to use newly acquired knowledge on diagnosis and management of ophthalmic problems encountered in everyday practice to identify gaps in care and target areas for practice assessment and performance improvement.
- Prepare with confidence for successful completion of the DOCK examination in Core Ophthalmic Knowledge and one or two Practice Emphasis Areas of their choice.
What about course materials?
- Course attendees will receive bound photocopies of the slides and questions presented at the course.
