In 2009, AAO established the H. Dunbar Hoskins, Jr., M.D. Center for Quality Eye Care (Hoskins Center). The Hoskins Center is leading in defining quality eye care. Practice guidelines and assessments are based on clinical evidence and expert consensus to assist the clinician in decision-making about treating specific diseases. The goal of the Hoskins Center's and Academy-approved guidelines and assessments is to improve quality of care (PDF 50k). Additional statements provide guidance on topic of interest to the clinician.
