The 2007 Mid-Year Forum was held April 18 to 21 in Washington, D.C. at the Capital Hilton Hotel.

This annual forum provides an opportunity for Academy leaders and leaders of allied ophthalmic organizations to identify and discuss critical issues facing ophthalmology. These leaders provide important contributions to the development of Academy policy. 

 

Congressional Advocacy Day

Advocacy Day was held April 18-19 in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum. During Congressional Advocacy Day, Academy members were educated about legislative issues relevant to the Academy and the ophthalmic profession. Academy members also met with their U.S. senators and representatives to present the concerns and positions of the Academy and the profession.

Council Meeting

The Council also met in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum from April 20 to 21.  At this meeting, the Council discussed advisory recommendations for the Board of Trustees.  Review 2007 Council Advisory Recommendations (CARs).
