Former director of the Cornea Service and Refractive Surgery at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, and refractive surgery program manager for the United States Navy, Dr. Schallhorn is currently working at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center in San Diego. He created the first refractive surgery programs for the US Armed Forces, and has served as a clinical investigator on numerous Food & Drug Administration clinical trials over the past 25 years. He has presented more than 200 clinical papers and has made countless presentations throughout America, Europe and Asia. Dr. Schallhorn is a visiting professor of medicine at Harvard, USC, UCSF and Baylor.
